Project Studio Re-Do: DONE

Maybe we should develop a Crayola bomb as our next secret weapon.  A happiness weapon.  A beauty bomb.  And every time a crisis developed, we would launch one.  It would explode high in the air - explode softly - and send thousands, millions, of little parachutes into the air.  Floating down to earth - boxes of Crayolas.  And we wouldn't go cheap, either - not little boxes of eight.  Boxes of sixty-four, with the sharpener built right in.  With silver and gold and copper, magenta and peach and lime, amber and umber and all the rest.  And people would smile and get a little funny look on their faces and cover the world with imagination.
~ Robert Fulghum

Oh joy, it's finally done and I can once again play and dream and create possible impossibilities.  Fibro and the fact that everything seems to take 5 times longer than originally estimated made for a seemingly endless hiatus from creating, but it's done and it's beautiful.  Cheerful.  Welcoming.   Energizing yet calming.  All this magic from a simple can of paint. Let me jog your memory with a very pink before:
Pretty in pink?  I think not.
And feast your eyes on the lovely after:
The same wall but oh so different.

FUNNY wall story, coming in a future post.

Why green?  Because I like green.  Every single shade of green. My poor green crayons always ended up way shorter than the other colors because I like green. I really should have been born with green eyes but must have stood in the 'brown eyes' line by mistake; I've never been good about reading directional signs. *sigh*  Let's take a look at what the color green symbolizes, shall we?

Green is the color of nature. It symbolizes growth, harmony, freshness, and fertility. Green has strong emotional correspondence with safety. Dark green is also commonly associated with money.
Green has great healing power. It is the most restful color for the human eye; it can improve vision. Green suggests stability and endurance. Sometimes green denotes lack of experience; for example, a 'greenhorn' is a novice. In heraldry, green indicates growth and hope. Green, as opposed to red, means safety; it is the color of free passage in road traffic.
Use green to indicate safety when advertising drugs and medical products. Green is directly related to nature, so you can use it to promote 'green' products. Dull, darker green is commonly associated with money, the financial world, banking, and Wall Street.
Dark green is associated with ambition, greed, and jealousy.
Yellow-green can indicate sickness, cowardice, discord, and jealousy.
Aqua is associated with emotional healing and protection.
Olive green is the traditional color of peace.

Green.  Honeydew, to be exact, with accents of turquoise. There's lots of good energy floating around in the studio since the new paint appeared on the walls.  My studio is a happy place, a safe place, a sanctuary that always makes me smile. Now I can look around and know the room matches the way it makes me feel. Here's a few more photos for your viewing pleasure:
Lots of good light from the north window.
Making the most of a 12x15 room.
The closet with the blue "ooops" paint.
Sounds like the title of a children's book.
Drawers Galore.  Also my stripper name.
Gotta see my stuff!
Who DOESN'T need a jar full of doll heads?
Just usin' the space I have.
Rug, storage boxes, and matching toes.
Brian Andreas Story People - LOVE his work.
"For a long time she flew only when she thought
no one else was watching."
Thanks for taking a look at my new, improved happy place, and remember to keep your eyes open for those tiny parachutes.  A new box of crayons might just save the world.

  1. Love it -it is sooo neat - you need me in there to mess it up a little. Green is one of my fav colors, especially lime green that is what is in my craft area now - only because I took over my guest room. When i get some money I will redo the smaller guest room with intent to specifically design it as a Chaos and Art space!!! Love yours. Hope this posts.

  2. Linda, I'll mess it up on my own once I get going again, no problem!
